Sushi Burritos in NYC? Sushirrito blew my mind!

Sushi burritos? Heck yeah! The Salmon Samba Burrito is really good.

I decided to check this joint out recently while shopping in the area and needed some sort of healthy lunch. Yet, I wanted something different and unusual from the norm. I never had a sushi burrito before so this seemed like a cool choice. There are a multitude of places to eat at in NYC, from around the world, so it’s no surprise to see an unusual foodie experience such as Sushirrito pop up on the scene.

Ordering was pretty easy as the menu is not all that large but the choices are good, yet there is little leeway to customize your food option. My one other gripe is that they need to expand their cold drink choices. At least get some regular and diet sodas here in case people don’t want to choose water or some sort of prepackaged lemonade or iced tea. Continue reading Sushi Burritos in NYC? Substance With No Soul. The $4 Billion Dollar Oculus in NYC.

o

Substance with no soul. Yet, it feeds on the souls of all those who died horribly across the street on 9-11.

A few days ago I paid a visit to the Oculus in NYC to check it out. Had not been down to the World Trade Center area in a while. I heard a lot about this new transportation hub. Walked around it and explored a bit. So, it’s basically an overpriced mall inside of a dead whale carcass structure that houses the MTA and PATH subway lines at an astronomically disgusting waste of $4 billion dollars of taxpayers money. All while we have homeless everywhere in NYC, and starving people in need of help. At least we can now shop in a mall right across where thousands died on 9-11! Pick up that fancy Hugo Boss suit! Buy that shiny Breitling watch! Purchase that stylish Kate Spade bag! Just be sure to ignore those begging for change or something to eat right outside of its doors. I read they paid the architect of this bloated piece of work upwards of $80 million dollars. Really?

Just another wasteful tourist attraction near where one of our darkest days occurred. Continue reading Substance With No Soul. The $4 Billion Dollar Oculus in NYC.

Head Westville Young Man for Healthy Eats in NYC!

o

I’m a busy man lately. Been running all around Manhattan performing errands, getting some dreaded Christmas shopping done, dropping off a few coats for charity, and also squeezing in some much-needed fun time with my friends. NYC is a magical place this time of year, and lends itself to a bit of overeating and overindulgence.

Yes, diets and waistlines take a beating during the holiday season.

That being said it’s always nice to have a spot like Westville to drop in for some clean and healthy eats to place your mind at ease, and make you feel a little better about yourself after the previous night’s egg nog consumption and over-eating at the company party. Boozy Gummy Bears and Comfort Food at Duke’s NYC!

o

There are those days when I just don’t feel like eating all healthy and nutritious. We have all had those days. When you just can’t eat another salad or baked fish plate. You’d almost rather eat a bowl of dirt with ice cream and chocolate syrup on it. I had one of those days recently where I threw the calorie counts out the window, and decided to go have a fun meal nearby at the newly opened Duke’s on the UES of NYC.

Walking in we were greeted by the friendly hostess and were offered any seat we wanted that were available. As it was early on a weekday the place was mostly empty. Took a seat at a booth and were quickly taken care of by a terrific waitress. She made some perfect recommendations for food and drinks and answered any question we had about the menu and specials.

My observations –

Cool 70’s/80’s pop and rock playing.

Fun roadhouse decor.

Flat screens everywhere. Must be a good football weekend spot.

Plenty of cocktail concoctions. Boozy Gummy Bears!

Happy hour half prices on select libations and appetizers.

Jello shots and syringes! Continue reading Boozy Gummy Bears and Comfort Food at Duke’s NYC!
