NYC seems to have an endless array of eateries of all styles and origins that take up residence here year in and year out. You can literally eat all around the world here in the five boroughs. Here is another new spot for good grub that has popped up within walking distance from my crib on the UES/Yorkville part of town. Hot damn! This makes my mouth and belly very happy!
Le Viet Cafe is a tiny resto that serves up some cheap and tasty Viet and Thai style street food. Even though it’s been open for a few months now where the old Buddha BBeeQ used to be we had not checked them out until a few weekends ago. Narrow and efficient looking the space can hold 12-15 people at most with a few tables along the one wall. Decor is minimalist but the service is very friendly. Menu is so very affordable and the portions are just about right for the price. Lunch specials during the week are also offered. I definitely need to go back now and try out some of the soups, sandwiches, fried rice dishes, and assorted appetizers. Yeah, you can say I enjoyed my first meal at Le Viet. This tiny little spot off of 1st Avenue and 91st street serves up some surprisingly delicious roast beef sandwiches and dinner platters!
Sometimes I just have to give it up and offer props to these tiny joints that rock my taste buds. Especially when a place like Au Jus opens up shop right around the corner from me on the Upper East Side of NYC.
Small menu of items to choose from but everything I have had here is really good. Clean and bright shop with a helpful staff that takes pride in the biz. Only a few stools to sit and dine at though so it’s basically take out or delivery.
A sandwich almost as good as an afternoon sex session that you don’t want to end, but you know that you have to get back to work after slipping out for a little afternoon delight!
Such is the allure of Bite located in the Gramercy part of NYC. Small funky sandwich nook that offers up big flavors. Dropped in for lunch one sunny Fall day and fell in love with this place instantly. Nice amount of sandwich options, soups, combos, hummus, panini’s, salads, bruschetta, and Mediterranean tinged delights. Friendly guy behind the counter took my order, told me to take a seat, and he would bring it over when ready.
I ordered a soup and sandwich. Sitting at a table in front with the windows opened up wide it made for a comforting warm meal with a nice cool breeze blowing in. The soup was terrific. Nice sized bowl of hot mixed vegetables and bread on the side. The sandwich was just awesome. The Exotic Tuna with curry, golden raisins, red cabbage, baby carrots, organic greens and plum tomatoes on whole grain bread. The tuna was just delicious, and the bread was firm, crispy, and covered with seeds. Love soft as an easy chair….. Continue reading You can Bite me anytime in NYC!→
