A Bloody Hell of a brunch at Machiavelli NYC!

o

Oh Bloody Hell! Now I discovered another spot for brunch on the Upper West Side with a resto called Machiavelli.

Hey, I must admit it was a solid choice for brunch after competing in a 5K race with a celebratory cocktail! Look, after a few months now of eating right, cutting calories, eliminating red meats and processed junk, hitting the gym more frequently, and running my ass off at three miles a clip multiple days a week I deserved a damn alcoholic drink!

On this Sunday morning I had just competed in another 5K race (and did quite well, thank you) over in Queens and decided to meet up with a friend for some brunch to celebrate another successful run. Why not? The NYC weather was cooperating with a beautiful sunny Spring day, and brunch is like a weekend sport here in this city when multitudes of people stand in long lines and jockey for position to score some prime outside sidewalk seating. Fleet Week, Letterman, NYC News, and $30 hot dogs.

Sometimes you read and come across some strange things during the course of the week.

I just read a news article about a hot dog vendor here in NYC that is selling those dirty water dogs along with hot pretzels for $30. Yes – thirty freaking dollars! Are you kidding me? Now, I can see paying maybe $2 for one of those belly bombers but this insane. Obviously, he is feasting upon visitors from overseas that know no better, and even though I’m not a huge fan of most annoying tourists, along with the bridge and tunnel suburbanite crowd that piles into the city on the weekends, even I would put a stop to this jerk if I saw him trying to rip off someone like this. Heck, even I have a bit of ethics in me believe it or not. Maybe sell it for $10…….

Another thing I read today was the story of how a girl’s sweet 16 party was bombarded by flying poop out of the sky! The family and friends were having a get together for her big birthday when feces just came out of the heavens and rained down upon them. They are assuming it was from a plane that had passed and somehow unloaded it’s crapper. Now, my mom and older relatives would always say it’s good luck when a bird poops on you, but I wonder if that would also hold true if big ‘ol Billy Bob dumped his bowels on your head from way up high? Delicious new Spring Menu! Tasty Korean Tacos and Tiger Balls!

The food temptations abound and lure us in with total disregard to any diet or attempt to stay fit in our clothes. Such is the life of a NYC blogger, and the amount of good eating just never ends in this town. There is always something new and revolutionary around each corner, or hidden away on some side street that you happen to stumble upon. One such spot is Korilla BBQ down in the East Village. It is one of those places that I had walked by a bunch of times, but had never stopped in to eat at.

We were invited here this past weekend as part of a media group special tasting of their new menu items. It was a small gathering of us that were here for this invite-only event which worked out well since the place is on the smaller side and seating is limited. We arrived around 4pm and took a seat in the small dining area in the back where we were joined by other bloggers and media people. Quite a friendly crowd, and all looking forward to checking out some great food.  Continue reading Tasty Korean Tacos and Tiger Balls at Korilla BBQ NYC!
