Here’s wishing everyone a safe, happy, and healthy New Year. 2016 for many was just a total abomination of a year, and as we head into 2017 there is much trepidation and uneasiness of what the future holds in store. Yet, the new year also brings the opportunity for personal growth, renewed fortitude, and better times ahead. It’s times like these that good friends and loving family are much valued, and should be held close.
Life truly is short, and we only have a certain amount of time here on this planet. Stop procrastinating. Make a change. Do something worthwhile. Get healthy. Face your fears. Make a difference. Make amends. Love someone. Reach out. Put petty differences aside. Show you care. See the world. Lend a hand. Do something crazy. Stop worrying. Laugh more. Go for it.
In the immortal words of Ferris Bueller –

It’s been quite a week here in NYC and across the good ol’ USA, right?
As Bob Dylan wrote and sang so many years ago – The Times They Are A-Changin’. Those lyrics are so appropriate for what has been happening lately. Especially in light of the Supreme Court’s decision which now legalizes gay marriage across all 50 United States. Now, as many of you know, I never, ever like to really discuss politics and religion unless it’s to poke fun. Most politicians are idiots no matter what party they are in anyway, so they are an easy target. I’m not an overly religious person to begin with. To me, it’s an evil subject matter, unless you pen a blog or column devoted to them. Then more power to you. I just see both as a subject that causes more pain, anger, and arguments than any other across the globe. So I usually steer clear.
Yet, when it comes to this I feel different. I feel as if this is a momentous decision, and one that has such a profound affect on not just this country, but the world. I want to write about it. There has been a shift in humanity. A shift in reasoning. A cause for celebration. After all, more than for political or religious reasons this is a human rights decision. One that should have been made long ago. I have always said “Live and Let Live”. It still boggles me as to why so many people get so uptight and freaked out over two people of the same sex marrying. Who cares? They aren’t hurting anyone. They aren’t hurting you. They want love, compassion, and happiness just like anyone else. No matter who they sleep with, live with, kiss, or hold hands with. No matter what a legally binding piece of paper says with their names on it. Gay or straight don’t we all want the same thing? To be happy and live in peace? Has it really been two years since I started posting my ridiculous thoughts, observations, gluttony, and depravity on this blog The Regular Guy NYC? Looking back over my scribble it just so happens that October is my two year anniversary of this madness that I have been vomiting out all over this blog. Where did the time go? In the words of the legendary anchorman Ron Burgundy – “Well, that escalated quickly”. I don’t know about you all but sometimes I can’t even believe the stuff that gets splattered all over this blog, and for some reason you all keep reading it. It’s like a pain and pleasure thing. It hurts so good, but you keep coming back for more. Like a car wreck that you can’t turn away from. I keep posting and you can’t seem to stop staring at my insides cooking like road pizza on the hot asphalt. What can I say? Many of you are just as demented, vile, raunchy, and sick as I am. I dig crazy, and really appreciate all of the support, comments, and feedback I have received and continue to receive here, even if it borders on stalking. By the way, does this rag smell like chloroform? Come, step into my unmarked white van of blogging! Continue reading Projectile blog vomiting all over NYC for two years now!
I had not checked my spam filter for this past week as I was busy out on the road for travel. Denver is a wonderful city to attend a trade show. The hotels are close to the convention center and many terrific restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Craft beer heaven! There’s a bizarre kind of homeless population meandering the 16th Street Mall and downtown area though. Kind of a spaced out hippy trippy crowd mingling in with a stoned skateboarder crowd. So different than what we have here in NYC. It’s always fun to get away for a few days, meet new people in my industry, press the flesh with old friends, do some business, and explore other cities in the good ole USA. It’s a strange land out there across our country for sure, but nevertheless, it’s something worth seeing for yourself across our great land.
Now that I am back home in NYC and playing catch up on my life I decided to take a peek into the old spam filter to see what gems have been deposited there. As all bloggers know there are spam bots constantly looking for ways to place a comment on a post to help promote their own links. The comment is usually 99% of the time totally ridiculous and has nothing to do with what your feature is about. Of course, I delete all of them as we all do, yet there are some that are so “out there” they give me a good chuckle. So once again, for your pleasure, are a few that I decided to showcase here and comment back on.
It is just a total coincidence that this asexual alien appears like an captivating girl. Science!
