To blog or not to blog? When life gets in the way we freak out!

I never realized how hard mentally the blogger lifestyle can be. Those of us who are active bloggers seem to be all attached to our electronic devices. Taking pictures. Writing notes for blog ideas. Responding to comments. Reading every new blog post we follow. Commenting on others. Freaking out if we skip a few days, or losing our minds if we don’t blog for a week. I think somewhere along the way we have forgotton there is an outside world to explore. Sometimes you just need a break. Life is not supposed to just be about spending it in front of a computer. Or attached to a cell phone. Not every extra minute or spare time should be spent blogging. That pesky thing we call “life” can get in the way sometimes with family matters, events, and so on. Not to mention a full time job that actually pays bills and enables us to do fun things like having a blog on the side. Plus, since my blog is not going to buy food and booze for me anytime soon the job is priority #1.

It was time to take a deep breath, take the plunge, and disconnect for a bit! Continue reading To blog or not to blog? When life gets in the way we freak out!

Hey, us beer lovers all enjoy a free brew. Tasty, cold, and refreshing. I was reached out to by BevBucks and asked to spread the word. Of course, as a beer lover I have no problem letting my NYC area readers know about this free beer offer!
BevBucks is a group sampling site site that creates interesting and fun offers where beer, wine or spirits are components. Basically,  BevBucks does marketing for brands and helps bars and restaurants by driving traffic to those brands. It’s a unique type of “bar spending” where BevBucks pays for each branded drink. So yes, the beer is completely free for anyone who gets a voucher…. it is seen as paid for or gifted by BevBucks. This offer is for Singha BeerContinue reading Free Beer in the NYC area! Things we stand in line for in NYC. That’s Cray Cray!

download

We who live here in NYC spend an awful lot of time standing around in lines waiting for things. I’ll admit, at times I am one of those fools too, but as I am getting older (and more wiser) I have to say that I just don’t have the patience for it anymore. I mean, if it’s for something extremely worthwhile such as free concert tickets or to a special event that just might entice me. Otherwise, don’t expect me to waste hours of my precious time on a slow moving line with a bunch of other noobs for anything. We are a fast paced city here. We act and move quickly. We hustle. Why anyone would lose precious sleep or time to wait for certain things on long ass lines just goes to show the extent some will go through. Call it nutty, call it absurd, just don’t call it logical. Some of these people are totally Cray Cray!

The movies are one. Why do people here in NYC feel the need to wait on mega long lines just to go see a popular movie on opening night? That is the worst time to go. Plus, the theater is packed with annoying people who won’t shut up, have their phones on during the movie, obnoxious little kids, crying babies, and there is usually the freakishly tall person who just happens to take the seat right in front of you. Thanks for blocking my view Gigantaur! Buy your tickets on-line or in advance and wait a few days. Even better, just wait a few weeks and it will be on DVD! With the oppressive heat and humidity that has hit the city since Summer started just less than a week ago one of the best treats to cool off with is ice cream. Well, here is a perfect chance to chill out for free courtesy of Good Humor!

Come and enjoy a delicious ice cream bar with former New York Mets relief pitcher, John Franco, at the Good Humor Ice Cream Truck on Thursday, June 27 at Bryant Park. As the first stop of Good Humor’s “Share the Love” campaign this summer, John will hand out free classic and new Good Humor ice cream bars to hundreds of New Yorkers. They can send the gifs directly to their social media channels from the booth, sharing the experience with their friends and family. The Good Humor Ice Cream Truck will continue to surprise and delight The Big Apple with free frozen treats throughout the summer.
