Stylized killing at American Psycho on Broadway in NYC!

o

Setting my Sony Walkman on auto-playback to go see this again!

Highly recommended! If you’re a fan of the book, movie, or an 80’s NYC buff you’ll love it and get all the pop culture references. Yes, I am one of those native New Yorkers that grew up in the 80’s/90’s and went clubbing at the Tunnel, hit the hard to get in restos, Wall Street excess was in high gear, and remember all the fashion, technology, drugs, music, and movie references that were mentioned throughout. Oh, the memories!

We scored primo orchestra seat tickets right in front with an amazing view as part of a Yelp Night event on Broadway that were pretty amazing. A big thanks to Yelp for the hook up as we both loved it! Sure, comp ducats are always so choice, but they had no bearing on my thoughts of the show here. We thoroughly really enjoyed it.

Great music and score. From the catchy Duncan Sheik music and lyrics, to the highly talented cast singing, dancing, and acting out on stage this show moves along and keeps you both laughing hysterically at times to sitting in silent tension as you know what is coming. Benjamin Walker’s performance as Patrick Bateman was brilliant as you get to witness him descend deeper into the madness of his deteriorating psyche. Was he hallucinating all of this? The killings? The blood? The sex? He pulls us in and we get to experience it all as if standing alongside the carnage of his crumbling mind. We happily go along with this dark and psychotic ride as his wingmen of insanity. Continue reading Stylized killing at American Psycho on Broadway in NYC!

Retail therapy and saying hello to Miss America in Atlantic City!

Atlantic City Tanger Outlets – more than just gambling here!

Well, hello Miss America! Looking good!

During our recent pilgrimage to Atlantic City as part of a weekend DO AC media junket we were afforded a variety of activities to partake in. If anyone thinks that AC is just about gambling they need to expand their minds and head down here for a few days to explore all the things one can do. Sure, I love gambling as much as the next guy. You can usually find me at a blackjack table or video poker machine plotting my strategy. Or demise! Yet, there is only so much gambling you can do with a limited budget. The golden rule – only gamble with a set bankroll that you are comfortable with. That being said, you have to be sure to make it last the whole time you’re here. Unless you’re hitting some good payouts to keep you going. I normally enjoy gambling during the evening which leaves open the whole afternoon for other things. If you love some shopping or just need to pick up a few things then AC is a perfect destination. Here’s a few suggestions based on just what we experienced. Give a suit. Change a life. Lend a hand. Men’s Wearhouse 2014 National Suit Drive.

“True Blood” star, Joe Manganiello spotted entering Madison Avenue’s Men’s Wearhouse in NYC to donate a suit for the 7th annual National Suit Drive on June 25, 2014.

I’m all for helping out and supporting a good cause, and with our uncertain economy and employment hardships across the board it is always nice to see certain companies rise to the occasion with a helping hand. This July, Men’s Wearhouse is launching its seventh annual National Suit Drive and encouraging consumers to donate their gently-used professional attire to help individuals who are trying to enter or re-enter the workforce.

The 2014 National Suit Drive aims to collect 150,000 pieces of professional attire (men’s and women’s suits, shirts, jackets, ties, pants, belts and shoes) to distribute to over 180 partner nonprofits that prepare men and women to enter the workplace through job readiness programs and workforce assistance. In return, Men’s Wearhouse will provide a coupon for 50% off a future purchase to each participating donor. Pretty nice deal if you ask me!

While those reading this may have their own suit or their significant others’ suits they can donate, you can also help the cause without donating from your own closets. Men’s Wearhouse will make a monetary donation of $1 (up to $20,000) to their National Suit Drive cause for every new Twitter and Instagram follower and each time the hashtag #giveasuit is used.

Massive Gastronomica, Clothes Shopping, and Spanx in NYC!

where-did-you-get-your-clothes-from-the-toilet-store

One of the things that most men dread, and some women too, its shopping for clothes. It’s a necessary evil, and one that I do not like at all anymore. I actually did not mind hitting the shops to pick up some gear for my bod back in the past. I was a bit of a clothes whore. That was when things actually fit me the right way. Before my body changed a bit. Before I moved into NYC and caught the foodie bug and became a gluttonous beast. I mean, let’s get real here, one of the reasons so many of us live in a cosmopolitan fantasyland like the city I reside in is that fact that there is pretty much every fattening and delicious food on the planet here. Amazing restaurants. Ethnic diversity of meals. Food stands on almost every corner. Food trucks parked on the streets. Temptation is everywhere. Everything freaking delivers! Massive Gastronomica!
