Cheap NYC adventures – Beer & Bourbon tasting for $10!

In a city where it seems you have to mortgage away your life savings just to live here sometimes you have to make some tough decisions when it comes to spending. Especially when it comes to nightlife, dining, and fun time! The majority of us are barely getting by as most of our paychecks are handed over for rent, bills, and the basic necessities of life. Hey, one must have enough toilet paper on hand at all times! We New Yorkers are a city of people that work hard and play hard. After a long work week we still find a way to go out money-2and party, even if that means digging into our cash pile meant for bills, or we dig in the couch cushions and coat pockets for enough change to have some drinks. Watching all the reports on tv all week made me reflect a bit. It’s easy for all the politicians to give their speeches, and most have been doing a great job throughout this. Even the MTA bosses (whom we normally hate) and the ConEd bosses (whom we also normally hate) have been saying the right things to the public and seem to be really trying to get Continue reading In the wake of Sandy

Hurricane Sandy was no joke!

Well, that one surely caught us all off guard here in the Northeast. I mean, we did have all the advance warnings and weather reports. Yet, as I wrote in my recent blog post many people in this area take it a bit lightly. We have all been through storms before, and many just don’t end up being that bad overall. We have endured storms, blackouts, terrorist attacks, etc. I guess sometimes things do happen as predicted. I, for one, also did not think it would end up this devastating. Sandy was one mean storm, and she did not go away quietly. Continue reading Hurricane Sandy was no joke!
