Doggy Bags, Leftovers, Facehuggers. Oh My!

The fear of the unknown, or just the love of food?

We had just finished dinner the other night after work at one of our favorite pizza joints. It’s a local’s spot that serves up terrific oven baked pizzas, assorted pastas, and Italian plates. One of those spots where you can order up normal human sized plates, or dive head-in and be a total gluttonous man-beast  slob freak and order a “family style” portion. Of course, we went with the “food baby coma” size pasta dish along with a medium pizza.

Lisa Lampanelli is STUFFED off-Broadway in NYC

Food. Just the word, thought, and sight of it, elicits many emotions and viewpoints. Happiness, insecurity, comfort, hate, and many more.

If you are a fan of, or know of, Lisa Lampanelli and her comedic style you are aware of her raunchiness and “in your face” stand up routine. If you went in expecting that you were disappointed. Cupcakes and Wine at Sweet Revenge in NYC

Cupcakes and wine? Sure, deal me in! After all, living well is Sweet Revenge, and since this was the name of the place in NYC it’s kind of appropriate.

We were on a cheat day when it came to eating, and after dinner close by decided to check this place out as we were still in time for cupcake and wine happy hour. Yes, that really is a thing here. Oh boy!

It was absolutely empty when we arrived. Service was pleasant but not overly attentive. Just right as we wanted to relax and chat. Small location with some seating and a small bar area. Continue reading Cupcakes and Wine at Sweet Revenge in NYC

Making My Taste Buds Sing at Saigon Market NYC

Wow, this place brought back amazing food memories of their old sister location that used to be up by me on 88th and 2nd ave in NYC. We were craving some of their wonderfully tasty plates after discussing some of the good eats we had there before the spot by us closed. Well, sometimes wishes do come through when gluttony is involved!

We were recently down by the Union Square area and my girl remembered that Saigon Market was close by, and being that it was dinner time we decided to forgo the normal Seamless route or cooking at home to head over here and feast! Continue reading Making My Taste Buds Sing at Saigon Market NYC
