There can be only one Brisket King of NYC!

Brisket King Returns March 16, 2015! Hail to the King baby!

There is nothing more I love to eat than some tasty meat. Now that we are in the dead of winter here in the Northeast and there is a lack of outdoor meaty BBQ activities I’m hankering for a few slabs of smoky beefy goodness. Well, it just so happens that the day before all things green arrives – green beer, green food, green outfits, and drunk leprechauns with St Paddy’s Day here in NYC  – we are being treated with all things BRISKET!

Brisket King returns for a third year to a larger venue! Where else to crown the King of Brisket than in Kings County? That’s right, they are heading for Brooklyn (Fort Greene) where 20+ chefs will compete for the glory of beef! Lip smacking, finger licking, juicy, melt in your mouth brisket!

Anticipated chefs/restaurants to be present (subject to change): Continue reading There can be only one Brisket King of NYC!

Pig, Pork, Beer, Wine, and Cider. I Pigged out at Pig Island!

Look! I found bacon seeds!
Look! I found bacon seeds!

One thing I do enjoy about living in NYC are the abundance of outdoor events we can enjoy here. I do sometimes forget that we live along the water right on the Atlantic Ocean and the multiple waterfronts offer amazing views for ample public events to take place.  I happened to partake in one this weekend called Pig Island, and it was on the waterfront in Red Hook, Brooklyn. As the name implies this one was all about the pork and I did make quite a pig out of myself. Beer, cider, wine, pig and pork products. Oh my! The tickets were all inclusive and we took full advantage of it. Talk about being a total piggy! By the end of the day we rolled out of there. I ate so much pig! Drank so much beer and cider! Oink! Labor Day, disgusting sights, celebrities, and NYC life.

Happy Labor Day everyone!

Hope you all are taking it slow and enjoying a day off from work. If your company is open today and they are forcing you to slave away for “the man” then I must say I feel sorry for you. Those companies are un-American! Close the damn biz for a day and let everyone enjoy a holiday of debauchery and reckless abandon. Or, just so many can actually get some sleep and be a lazy sloth for the day. It’s all good either way. This is Amurrica! Slap some hotdogs and burgers on the grill. Devour those carcinogens! Hit the beach in wildly inappropriate bathing suits that show off those jelly rolls. Skin cancer be damned! Drink until you puke. After holiday hangovers are special! Go see Guardians of the Galaxy again. After all, DC comics can’t seem to come out with a movie lately and Marvel is kicking their ass! Bring your kids to the mall to let them run wild like obnoxious brats and annoy the crap out of everyone else while you shop in blissful ignorance. Well, actually, we hate these parents. What I’m trying to say is go out and enjoy the day off if you can, as Labor Day is meant to be a day of relaxation from the daily grind of the rat race we live in. WEBSTER HALL BRINGING A LITTLE COUNTRY TO THE CITY

EAST VILLE HOEDOWN ON SATURDAY, August 16, 2014

Hot damn I know where I will be at this Saturday! That’s right folks, they are doing it AGAIN!  Not too long ago there was a rompin’ stompin’ good time at East Ville de Folies and East Ville des Carnivale events. After the rip-roaring success of the last East Ville event, Webster Hall will host its 1st annual Beer, Whiskey, Moonshine, Bacon and BBQ event – called East Ville Hoedown. The countrified event is scheduled to take place on August 16, 2014 encompassing all four floors of Webster Hall!

YEE-HAW!

Now, I am the type of guy that enjoys a cold beer. Listens to live bands. Kicks back with a tasty whiskey now and then. Has partaken in a shot of moonshine or two. Of course, I love my bacon and BBQ! Yet, who has time to stroll out to the country? So, these good folks decided to bring the country to the city! It will feature your favorite Americana beers, the best whiskeys, bourbons and white lightning Kentucky and Tennessee has to offer. The event will also enable consumers to taste bacon in ways you never imagined along with mouthwatering BBQ. Hot dang! I am already drooling as I am typing this! Bacon!
