Holy gastronomica Batman! Family style gigantic portions for my huge appetite!
One of the few reasons to go anywhere near Times Square in NYC. If you are a real New Yorker you never really want to be in this part of town unless you’re there for a Broadway show or some sort of special event. As we were seeing Rock of Ages (awesome rocking show) not too long ago we decided to make reservations and eat here before the performance. Side note – sad to see the show bow to its final curtain. We saw it a few times and it was always a blast. Great music, plenty of laughs, wonderful memories, and a fun show to boot! Extra side note – never eat this much again if you plan on sitting in a small cramped Broadway theater to attend a show afterwards. I just wanted to lay down in the aisle and sleep after this carbo coma!
Carmine’s is known for ginormous family style portions, and they surely did not disappoint. The place itself is huge and boisterous. Plenty of pictures on the walls featuring Broadway celebrities and well knowns. Loud and full of people happily chowing down on some very decent plates of Italian style food. I would guess that 80% of the diners here that night were tourists. It probably is most of the time as it is located in tourist central, and many are in the area to either see a show or sight see. One thing for sure is that everyone comes here with an appetite and leaves satisfied. Continue reading Holy Gastronomica Batman! Carb Loading at Carmine’s in NYC!
Now that the holiday season is behind us and we are all recovered somewhat from Christmas shopping and New Years hangovers, there is time to relax and reflect a bit. Catching up on my blogging. Once in a while I take a peek into my blog stats as I’m sitting here naked on our rich Corinthian leather couch enjoying a cup of International Coffee (peppermint mocha) and peruse the search terms by which those out there are using to find my blog. Some are the run of the mill keywords which are as expected. Then there are those that are, well, a “bit disturbing” if that is a proper way to put it. I honestly have no clue as to why these word combinations lead to my blog. I mean, I know that I can be a bit warped at times, but am I really this insane? Just taking a looksie into the past week’s stats to start off the new year here are a few choice search terms I found were used to find my blog.
Penis Superhero Porn
What. The. Hell? Is this really a thing? I do know that the porn industry mimics the Hollywood blockbusters. Yet I have never heard of specific porn that features a “superhero penis.” Does it have a mind of it’s own? Continue reading They find my blog through Superhero Penis Porn?
Really, wasn’t it Halloween just less than a week ago? I literally still have the taste of this holiday in my mouth as there are plastic buckets full of candy and chocolates strewn about the office I work in and I just can’t keep my hands out of them. Chocolate drool down my chin. This time of year really tests my resolve which is disappearing as the days go on. First Halloween, then Thanksgiving, which then leads to Christmas and New Years. There are only 47 days until Christmas! Only 7 weeks. Just 7 weekends to get all that horrendous shopping done. Hold on now, let’s backtrack a bit. Halloween just ended. What gets me all riled up is that we are already getting bombarded with holiday commercials and Christmas merchandise in the stores. What the eff??? Really, can we just enjoy each holiday first before having the next one shoved down our throats and ripped through our buttholes? Why am I seeing ads for toys and gifts at the major retailers on October 28th? Why does my local Duane Reade already have boxes of Christmas wrap in the windows on November 5th? This lunacy needs to end right now! What’s next? July 4th sales the day after New Years? How about Christmas ads for 2015 the day after Easter? Makes me want to go all Bigfoot on these places and start throwing poop everywhere. Continue reading Really? Christmas, the Flu, NYC Road Rage. What is going on?
Holy sugar bomb Batman! Doughnuts! What more can I say that has not been said about Doughnut Plant? They make ridiculously delicious donuts. I was at this newer location located at the Hotel Chelsea in NYC not too long ago. Pretty much right after my serious Summer training and eating light ended, so yeah, I splurged in a big way with no guilt!
This one is definitely set up more like a cafe over their other location on the Lower East Side. Much more space with tables and chairs. Some artwork on the walls with lots of color and giant doughnut pillows adorning them. More of a trendy looking spot as I guess they are catering to the Chelsea Hotel clientele a bit. Must have been working as it was pretty crowded when I was there. Why not? It’s doughnuts! Sweet sugar bombs of perfection! Continue reading Sweet sugar bombs of perfection! Doughnut Plant NYC!
