As the cast took their bows and the curtain dropped I knew I had just witnessed brilliance.
Wow. I have no words. Stunning performance. Damn onions under our seats making me cry. This run of Miss Saigon on Broadway is for a limited time only, and a must see if in NYC.
Triumphant! Absorbing! Emotional! Powerful! Moving! There are so many feels I experienced while sitting though this performance of Miss Saigon. Even though the base story is kind of sad you still could not deny the uplifting soul of this musical. The talent of the cast coming over from the West End in London shines during every act. The singing soars. The stage design is perfect. The costuming superb. The special effects are truly what makes Broadway magical. I read many positive reviews of the run Miss Saigon with this cast received across the pond, and it did not disappoint. Continue reading Miss Saigon on Broadway – a NYC Experience Not To Be Missed.→
Now, here in NYC we all love the cool events and happenings that are afforded to the fair citizens of this metropolis. We also love brunch. Especially if booze is involved. Oh, booze must be involved! There is no brunch like a boozy brunch. Heck, sometimes people like myself even enjoy breakfast foods for dinner. Combine eating breakfast for dinner while sipping cocktails on board the deck of an aircraft carrier with a view of the NYC skyline all lit up at night and that makes our heads explode!
The Village Voice’s inaugural Brunch Eats on Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 will be a Breakfast-for-Dinner event held from 8:00pm-11:00pm. The sister event to the annual SELL OUT event Choice Eats, Brunch Eats will feature 20+ of New York City’s top restaurants and bakeries lauded in the Village Voice who will present their best breakfast bites, mouth-watering brunch dishes plus themed cocktails including bloody marys, mimosas, bellinis, coffee, live music and more.
Guests will sample and sip from all attending participants for one ticket price aboard the Flight Deck on top of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum amongst propeller planes that were used during World War II. Guests can expect to rise and dine with breakfast and brunch favorites ranging from doughnuts to eggs and bacon to pastries. Oh My!!!
Hot dang, even though I have been here a few times now I’m finally writing a review for Joe’s Bar. What the heck is wrong with me? This is one of the best spots on the Upper West Side of NYC to chill out at! Just let me extrapolate on their attributes hopefully without sounding like a love crazed fangirl.
Tasty burgers. Even though I am no longer eating red meat I can still rave about the juicy goodness of their cheeseburgers here. Oh, and the bowl of fries is damn skippy too!
In the words of Rocky Balboa- “It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward.”
“That’s how winning is done!”
Each year now I put myself through one of these mud runs and obstacle course races. Whether it’s a Warrior Dash, Tough Mudder, Urban Mudder, etc. 3 miles, 12 miles, 5 miles. Each year I end up a bit bruised, battered, bloodied, and scraped up. I do it for a cause. To give something back. Anything.
They say it’s a young man’s game. I’m probably one of the older dudes out there on event day. I don’t let it defeat me. Maybe I’m crazy. Why do I put myself through this pain? Because I can. Because I won’t ever give up. Life is too much fun, and too short, to sit on a couch and watch it all go by. Even if what I do makes a tiny bit of difference in someone’s life it’s all worth it to me. It’s worth the aches and pains my body feels after these races. Plus, I will admit I do enjoy the feeling of accomplishment when I cross that finish line.
I recruited my bud Francisco to get out there with me for his first OCR and we conquered the first ever Urban Mudder NYC in 2015! It was a terrific day and experience. Even with a sunny hot 88 degree day out we crushed it. Boom!
We want to thank all those who offered their support and donations. You rock! We were one of the top 5 fundraising teams for the Make A Wish charity with over $3400! The Make A Wish Foundation was very grateful for our efforts. In total they raised over $40,000 with Urban Mudder. Again, thank you all who helped support us with this cause.
