It’s New Year’s Eve

It’s New Year’s Eve.

This time has generally been considered the realm of reflecting on the past year, and making foolhardy resolutions for the upcoming months ahead. We look at all the things we have accomplished, and those that we put on the back-burner. New Year’s Eve brings many friends and family together for an evening of revelry, and can also be the loneliest of nights. It’s a chance to make amends, or to start up new beginnings.

Why do we place so much weight on this one day? Maybe because many of us feel it’s a chance to start anew with a clean slate. So many of us are not happy with how our years ended. Maybe we wished we could have done or experienced more. Some of us began new jobs or relationships, and are eager to jump into the new year to see where life will go. Maybe some are hoping for new employment. Some had family members that passed on. There are those out there looking for  that special someone and new adventures. Each and every one of us view New Year’s Eve with a different aspect. This night has that aura of hope and optimism associated with it when the clock strikes twelve.

New Year’s Eve is also a chance to look back at the events of the past year. Our country, and world, has seen so much heartache and tragedy in 2012. We have also seen people do special things that warm the heart and bring a smile to our faces. Who knows what 2013 will bring?

I just wanted to take this moment and thank you all for reading my blog that I started just a few short months ago. Here’s wishing you all a terrific New Year’s Eve, and hoping you all have much health, love, success, and happiness in the year ahead.

Happy New Year Phil! Hope you had fun at your sweatpants party. We ended up going out last night after all, and surprisingly it was quiet everywhere. I think lots of New Yorkers stayed in this year. Let’s hope for a fantastic 2013.

      Happy New Year Tracy!

We had a great time last night! Good friends, lots of booze, food, and laughs. Yeah, I heard a lot of other people did the home parties. Way too expensive to go out and mostly over-hyped anyway.

Hopefully 2013 will be a great year!

  11. I’m not a big fan of New years Eve big parties, but I do enjoy taking the time to reflect on the past year and writing down a fat list of resolutions. We need those times to think and reevaluate the way we’re living.
